Hello,
I hope all is well. I am excited to announce that I have completed my film score for Michael Bartolotta’s documentary Lady of the Lake (Sample 1, :58 / Sample 2, 1:27 / Notes). I have been interested for some time in writing for film and this project was a very interesting and satisfying experience. The film explores the legend of a restless spirit in a flowing white gown known as “The White Lady.” It is said that she haunts the hills overlooking Lake Ontario in search of her long missing daughter.
My experience creating electronically generated sounds and music for the documentary lead to my creation of a brand new and unique composition, Submarines (Notes). Consisting of three contrasting yet complimentary movements, #1 Into the Depths (Sample :48 / Full Version 4:41), #2 Peril and Wonder (Sample :36 / Full Version 4:45), and #3 The Journey Home (Sample :51 / Full Version 7:59), the piece was composed for two alto flutes and electronics (pre-recorded audio). At once descriptive and expressionistic, the work uses a variety of musical languages to take the listener through an underwater adventure. It was created in response to a “call for scores” by the British based musical organization Rarescale. I am very pleased with the finished work and I hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy and thanks for checking in!
-Anthony
